Viking Day

Kingfishers, Rabbits and Foxes have had an exciting day, full of hands-on experiences and lots of learning. We were divided into 2 groups. In a role play exercise we helped to build a Viking boat and sailed to Britain to attack the Anglo Saxons. Everyone had an important job to do whether it was building the boat, hoisting the sail, rowing, steering, measuring the depth of water, loading the boat with goods or stolen treasure.... Far too many jobs to mention all.

We found out what clothes the Vikings wore...

We learnt how to make a Viking house from wood...

We had weave the branches in and out to make a wattle frame...

We also had a carousel of activities in the classrooms.

We played a Viking v Anglo Saxon game...

We had hands-on experience of Viking artefacts...

It was a filling day!
